Programming dial-up coonection

I hope this may be an appropriate group to which to pose this (simple!?)
question:
How do I program a dial-up connection in BCB6? I.e., to an ISP where I have
an account.

I have searched BCB6 Help and documentation and can find nothing about this
level of connection; all the examples of ftp, mail, etc. work over an
existing IP connection but seem to provide no way of making this connection
if it is not there (and do not even detect this condition, it seems).

Can I either call one of the existing Network Connections from my program or
otherwise write the code to do this, or is there a component somewhere to do
this with appropriate parameters. My ISP (BT Yahoo) provides a highly
protected dialler that may or may not prove too restrictive.

Thanks.
Dafydd, Wales, UK.

Look at the RasGetEntryDialParams() and RasDial() functions in the Win32
API.

You are looking in the wrong place. You need to look in the Microsoft API
documentation, not Borland's documentation.

Many thanks. I had looked at some MS documentation but found nothing
apparently relevant in Index or Contents!. Having looked at some shareware
offerings I now know that RAS are the magic letters.

I assure you that those functions are in MS's documentation, and that the
function names are available in the index. Are you sure that you are
looking in the right file? You should be looking in win32.hlp. OR, just go
to http://msdn.microsoft.com directly, which is more up to date anyway.

Sorry if my wording caused confusion. _Before_ I looked for shareware (and
found something I can adopt/adapt) I _had_ looked at the MS stuff without
using RAS to search with. I do indeed now find a great deal of information
in the MS documentation under RAS and am making good progress.

Thanks again.
