Hello all, I am writing a program for file transfer over internet with TServerSocket and TClientSocket. It work now but I have problems when the client is in lan with a proxy/firewall (in the office) and use it to block some ports. I have tried it and it seems that only the port 25 can be used for a connection with my server application (error code 10051 on others ports). I would like to know : - port 25 can be used by my application like another port or it is checked by proxy becouse it is for email ? - how can I modify my program to support proxy ? Thank you very much for help Alfred

I think the better idea would be to allow your program to be configured to use any given port, then the people managing the firewall can decide whether or not to allow traffic on your port to pass, or they may tell you to use a specific port... Thank you for answare. My program have the possibility to change the port but the main problem is the proxy i think. I would like to learn how to use it like some network programs does. For example like icq, you can specify proxy setting if your network have it. Thank you very much for your answare.
