I have downloaded the source for Indy 10 in a zip file but I can't find out how to install it into BCPP4. Can anyone give me some pointers? Cheers, David

Thanks to all of you. Now I've got it. Is there another of installing the Indy version 9.x instead of using the make file distributed by AtozedSoftware ? I saw a statement that bpk's will not be suported anymore by AtozedSoftware. Thanks a lot. Jayme. Hi, So, as the IdSMTP version 10 do not support C++Builder6.0, have you succeeded on installing the 9th version ? I am facing a lot of troubles and errors when running the Fullc6.bat . Thank you very much. Jayme. I am facing a > lot of troubles and errors when running the Fullc6.bat . Yes, I did get Indy9 installed into BCB4, so BCB6 will do it too. I wish that Mr Lebeau was here as he would sort out the problems far quicker than I ever could, but anyway, I think that I extracted the zip to BCB\Lib\Components\Indy9. Then I created my own .bpk's and installed them. So, for you to do this, firstly uninstall Indy8 (if you have it installed), and then delete all the Indy8 .lib's, .h's, .hpp's, .bpl's, .bpi's, .obj's. You'll find them in BCB\Include, BCB\Lib, BCB\Projects\Bpl, BCB\Projects\Lib. Now extract the Indy9 zip to a folder like BCB\Lib\Indy9, then download the zip I have posted in attachments, and extract to the dir you've extracted Indy9 to. Open Indy40_bcb4.bpk, and click Compile. Once it's done, open dclIndy40_bcb4.bpk, and click Install. This should do it. Jonathan

Oops, 2nd link does not work, to get there, click the first link then scroll down to the "Borland C++ Builder Installation" and the link name is "In Indy 9.0, there is no IndyC60.bpk. What do I do to get Indy to work with C++Builder 6?" Hi, Nice to have you back. I've got an Indy 9.0.18 version from bcbjournal (Volume 9, Number 7) which I've installed. They mentioned there are some missed source files in the installation set available for download at the Indy project site. I am not able to connect to the Gmail (Google) SMTP server that requires authentication and uses the port 465 instead of the normal 25. I've been getting the #10054 Socket error, "Connection reset by peer". The code I have written until now is just as follow : I didn't find any example on setting up the TIdSMTP component to connect to a server that requires authentication. Can you help me a little bit ? Thank you very much indeed. Jayme. GMail requires SSL. Sample code for connecting to GMail has been posted several times before. Please go to http://www.deja.com to search the newsgroup archives. Or go to Indy's newsgroups on the "news.atozed.com" newsserver. Gambit

Thanks Remy, I hope you had a good holiday. Is Indy 9 OK for BCB4, and if so where can I get a download and installation instructions? I seem to have been going round in circles following links etc. Cheers, David Ayre "Remy Lebeau \(TeamB\)" <no.spam@no.spam.com> wrote: > >"David Ayre" <davidcayre@aol.com> wrote in message >news:43186b89$1@newsgroups.borland.com... > >> I have downloaded the source for Indy 10 in a zip file >> but I can't find out how to install it into BCPP4. > >Indy 10 does not support BCB4. Thank you very much. As I am a very newbie on Indy components it didn't help me to have the TIdSMTP working, but thank you again. Jayme.
