I am having problems with a tcp/ip project that I am working on. I am using Borland C++ Builder 6. The project is really a simple test that I created before writing a larger app. I am simply using TClientSocket and TServerSocket to connect over the internet. The client prompts for an ip address (the port is a constant) and then calls Open on the client socket. The server simply captures the OnClientConnect event and writes its status. I have 2 other computers that I am able to use for the remote connection, one has a dialup connection and the other uses road runner. I have determined that both use dynamic ip addresses, but I have found a site that tells you your current ip address. I use that to get the current address before I try the remote connection test. The first test using dialup is successful. The second using road runner always fails. I have instructed the firwall on the road runner computer to always allow my test app to have internet access, so I'm certian that is not the issue. I don't get any errors, but the client never connects to the server (or remote computer). I have even tried the test on another broadband computer that has no firewall at all, and it always fails as well. Can anywone help me with this issue? Thanks for your time.
