Installing Indy9.0.18 .lib not created

Hi all!

Again someone who has problems installing Indy9...
Ive downloaded Indy9.0.4 to get the FULLC6.BAT since I
found out, that it isnt included in the Indy9.0.18_source.zip...
I unzipped the older version and then overwrote all files provided
by the newer version. Compilation quits with no errors, but the
indy60.lib file isnt in the C6 directory or anywhere else on my
drives...(only in the trashcan, where I put the older one in shipped
with BCB:) Same behaviour when I compile "only" 9.0.4.
Ive deleted all indy files before installing as described in the KB
and wrote so often by Elmar and Remy the last time... dont know
if this is of any meaning in this case.
I use BCB6 pro with Patch1 & 2 installed. OS is WinXP SP2.

Regards, Dirk.

I had the same problem. I did a diff of the 9.0.18 and 9.0.17 source
and the only difference I found was in a comment, so I used 9.0.17
(which included the .bat files) and everything was happy. Not sure if
that is any help to you, but there it is FWIW.

Thanks.
It only complains the first time I try to compile a project using
a TidTCPClient, for example. I click away the error message,
compile it again and it works... Strange...
I think Ill wait until Indy10 sources come with the compile-bats :)
Btw.: Has anybody installed Indy10 in BCB yet?

Dirk,

My understanding is that Indy10 doesn't support BCB. Here's what a
fellow posted in atozedsoftware.indy.documentation about a month ago:

Thats bad :(
I did what you suggested (downloaded v9.0.17) and it works...
Ok, so lets hope!

Thanks and regards,
Dirk.

That fellow was me, and you apparently did not research the issue deep
enough, or else you would know that third-party BCB packages are already
floating around publically after that message was posted, and that people
have been able to install and use Indy 10 in BCB.

Not unless you go by "DonS". You may have said something similar, but
you're not who I quoted. Guess I should have said who I was quoting...

I didn't research it at all. Someone said it, no one corrected or
challenged them, and I hadn't seen anything to the contrary.

I'm glad to hear that Indy 10 and BCB are getting to know each other.
Thanks for the information!

What you posted earlier were originally my words, not Don's. He copied them
from one of my postings elsewhere.

Does it really matter?
Ive asked because I had a problem installing Indy9.017.
If you know an "easy way" (for me as an amateur) to install Indy10,
I would appreciate it.

Can you tell me where I (we) can find them?

Regards, Dirk.
