I have downloaded and installed Indy 9.00.14. The compiler will not let me use a Timeout parameter with connect ie MySocket->Connect(CONNECT_TIMEOUT); From what I can tell this ability was added after Indy ver. 8.x and is gone in Indy 10. But why can't the compiler find it in 9.00.14? (The folder is at the top of the LIBRARY list, can't find any references to the old version, etc.) What's the best way to implement a timeout or resolve the above? Thanks.

Download an updated version of the Indy 9 source from the version control server or one of the mirror sites. It does exist, and it's declared as:
procedure Connect(const ATimeout: Integer = IdTimeoutDefault); virtual;
IdVers.inc from the version control server contains:
gsIdProductName = 'Indy'; {do not localize}
// Delphi 9 - 9.0.50
gsIdVersion = 'DevSnapshot'; {do not localize}
In Indy 10, it is the ConnectTimeout property.
