Indy 10 Snapshot and VMS
#5699

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade from Indy 9.00.11 to Indy 10 as I have had an issue
with using List on a VMS server - the results have been of a different
format from what I expect. I understood that Indy 10 can parse the list
results from a large number of servers including VMS. However, I have had
some problems compiling the source. I am using C++ Builder 5 and I took a
version of Indy 10 from the development snapshot today (Friday 9th of July).
When I compile (using Fullc5.bat) I get a couple of errors:

1. IsSocks.pas (345) Error: Ambiguous overloaded call to 'ToBytes'
IsSocks.pas (534) Error: Ambiguous overloaded call to 'ToBytes'

2. IdIOHandlerSocket.pas (240) Fatal: Could not compile used unit
'IdSocks.pas'

3. IdBlockCipherIntercept,pas(43) Fatal: File not found 'IdCoreGlobal.dcu'

Could I be doing something wrong or is this snapshot not stable?

If anyone could help me, I'd really appreciate it.

may thanks,

Richard

Fixed.

That is a side effect of the first error.

No comment about that one, sorry.

The thing about snapshots is that they are active files. They can change at
any moment, and sometimes you might download them while they are still being
worked on.

Hi,

thanks for letting me know about the fixes, however, unfortunately I have
encountered a new problem.

Now when I compile I get the following warning which causes a subsequent
error:
IndySystem50.dpk (50)
IndyCore50.dpk (29) Warning: Package 'IndySystem50' will not be written to
disk because -J option is enabled
IndyCore50.dpk(29) Fatal: Required Package 'IndySystem50' not found

Is it useful for me to let you know these errors? I'm aware that I'm taking
a snapshot so if I take a cut tomorrow there could be no problem.

thanks,

Richard

It would be better to report them to Indy's own newsgroups at
news.atozedsoftware.com.
