I have two pc's behind my wifi router, each has a server app on them and acts as client and servers and both has a diferent listening port on them. When trying to connect via another internet pc (someone else) the port forwarding being not set in the router admin fails the connection. I want to make the apps automatically setup port forwarding when they start on each pc and then they register with the main website with their desired listening port so requests can be directed to the appropriate pc. Can someone tell me if i can use the IPHLPAPI's CreateIPforwardEntry,SetIPForwardEntry and DeleteIPForardEntry to do this. Or is there a better way. Thanks in advance.

To do that, your router needs to support UPnP (Universal Plug-n-Play), and
you need to have the UPnP client files installed on each PC. Refer to MSDN
for more information:

Those functions have nothing to do with what you are asking for. They
manipulate the calling PC's local routing table, but you need to adjust the
router's table instead.

If UPnp is not supported what other options would i have to save the end user having to run their router admin and setup port forwarding etc. Thanks..

Unless the router has its own API and/or telnet protocol exposed, then it likely can't be configured remotely without UPnP. Your only other option would be to generate and run a script that manipulates a web browser into performing the kinds of operations that a human would perform by hand to log into the router and change its settings.
