That is how the SMTP protocol is designed to work in the first place.  SMTP
is a transactional protocol.  The transaction is started when you login to
the server, and is not completed until the QUIT command is sent just prior
to disconnecting the socket.  All emails issued in between are cached by the
server until the transaction is completed.  If successful, then all of the
cached emails are delivered as needed.  If the connection is dropped
unexpectedly, or the RSET command is issued, then all cached messages are
discarded instead.
