Well folks, I was able to (mostly) successfully move a major application I am constantly working on from BCB3 to BCB6. But as you know there will be little issues.... here are a few I am talking about... 1. BCB6 kinda compiles slower that BCB3 any speed up advice? 2. I change the version number in my application - the whole thing compiles over and it is slow. Actually any compiler settings i change does this. 3. I get millions of warnings about 'Sender' not used and alignment warnings. I want to have my warnings on but this is ridiculous. Actually I cannot turn off the 'Sender' not used and it is causing my compiler to halt with too many warnings! So I cannot create an EXE. Any help in these areas will be appreciated.

Make sure that you are using precompiled headers effectively.
Also, have a look at
http://andy.jgknet.de/cpp/index.php?page=idecompilerspeedfix, which is a set
of plugins that implement patches for the compiler to remove various
bottlenecks.

As it should be, because changing the version alters the project file
itself, so the compiler re-compiles the entire project.

That never happens for me.

What warnings exactly?
> I cannot turn off the 'Sender' not used
You have two choices:
1) use a #pragma statement above each function/method definition:
#pragma argsused
void __fastcall TForm1::Button1Click(TObject *Sender)
{
//...
}
2) rename/comment the Sender variable's name
void __fastcall TForm1::Button1Click(TObject *)
{
//...
}
Or:
void __fastcall TForm1::Button1Click(TObject* /*Sender*/)
{
//...
}
