BDS2006 Linker Error. Unable to open file "FXCSTRFUNC.OBJ"

Hello,

Sorry for the cross-posting, but I just realized there is a newsgroup
specifically for migration problems.

I am porting applications from BCB5 to BDS2006 (C++), and on some apps, but
not all, I'm getting the error below.

[Linker Fatal Error] Fatal: Unable to open file 'FXCSTRFUNC.OBJ'

- There are no unresolved functions, just this one linker error.
- There are no warnings that seem to be related.
- There are no explicit references to such a file, library, or object
anywhere in the source or project files.
- There is no such file anywhere on my disk.
- I'm building clean, i.e. deleting all existing obj's, csm's, tds's, etc.

I've been looking at this for two weeks and I'm stumped. I've got two very
similar projects, one that gets the error and one that does not. The two
projects have the same include and library paths, so I think they're linking
all the same library files, etc. and I can't find any differences that seem
to relate to this error.

I saw the recommendation above to create a new project and add all of the
files, so I think I'll try that, but does anyone know what is wrong, or what
to do next to trouble-shoot? There must be a way to determine what source
file requires that file, or includes something that requires it.

Thanks,

Joe

Finally figured it out. In the process of migrating projects from BCB5 to
BDS2006, there simply were required libraries missing from the "libraries"
and "sparelibs" items in some .bdsproj files. It's not clear to me why when
project would end up with the required libraries in the list and another
would not, but at least I know what was wrong. Thanks to everyone who helped
along the way.
