I am migrating a large 112 unit project from C++Builder6 to BDS2006 Update2. The project contains horizontal dialog boxes. When I open a horizontal dialog *.cpp unit file I get this error popup box message: "Error creating form: ancestor for 'TOKBottomDlg' not found". Furthermore, when I started to build the project I got this popup box error message: "Unable to find static library idectrls.lib" However, compiling did proceed. But when it came to linking I got this error: "[Linker Fatal Error] Fatal: Unable to open 'OKCANCL1.OBJ'". I tried replicating this bug using a simple project with a mainform which contained a button, and When this button was clicked, a horizontal dialog box appeared. This project compiled, linked and ran OK, although I still got the popup box error message: "Unable to find static library idectrls.lib". However, I did NOT get the error popup box message: "Error creating form: ancestor for 'TOKBottomDlg' not found", and I did NOT get the error: "[Linker Fatal Error] Fatal: Unable to open 'OKCANCL1.OBJ'". Perhaps the TOKBottomDlg error is specifically introduced in the conversion of a C++Builder6 project to a BDS2006 project. I have twice tried to start a completely new *.bdsproj file, and then add the 112 *.cpp units, but both times I have been unsuccessful. I am now completely STUCK. I posted this problem on Quality Central a week ago and it has not gone past the "Reported" stage - it hasnt even been "Opened" let alone solved. In lieu of spending ca. 200 (or approx $400) for a Single Incidence Report, I was wondering if anyone in this newsgroup had a suggestion. Thanks, Bill Anderson
