Hi everybody, I developed quite large projects in BCB5 Pro that make large use of code written in Delphi5. Such delphi code also uses many Delphi5 Pro VCL components. Also some third party components are used (mainly TeeChart). Is there any compatibility problem migrating such projects into BCB6 ? And what could happen if at the same time I migrate the delphi-written code from D5 to D2005 ? Does somebody know up to which Delphi's version Delphi VCL components can still be used in BCB6 projects ? Thanks in advance Piero

Hi Piero, As far as TeeChart concerns you shouldn't have any problem as version shipped in BCB5, BCB6, Delphi5 and Delphi 2005 is the same (or almost the same). Piero, Certainly you could move your BCB v5 code to v6. I don't use TeeChart. But I expect they support BCB v6. Check for each component you are using. If they are old versions that came out before Delphi v6 and BCB v6 then you might need to upgrade them to newer versions to work with BCB v6. If you are calling Delphi code in DLLs and the C++ code doesn't know the language it is calling into them you could move the Delphi code to 2005. BUT if you are making VCL controls in Delphi to use in BCB then I think that Delphi code has to be compileable in BCB v6. So it would need to NOT use any Delphi extensions from post-v6.
