just some thoughts....

I am also doing DSP like things with BCB, mostly working with wave files.
Currently I'm working with DirectX/DirectSound and it took me a while to
setup DirectSound in BCB.
If you only want to use the Multimedia API it should be easier.

However, there is one thing that makes me stick with BCB:
Once I set up my backend DSP routines so that they compile in BCB I want to
test them with some GUI (trackbars, buttons or edits, showing the results of
changes). And this is where I think BCB saves you a lot of coding! You can
always redesign your GUI in minutes!!

Also I think that DSP routines (even from a VC++ book) should not depend too
much on VC++, so it's maybe not that difficult to use them in BCB. As Mathew
said, as long your code is plain WinAPI it should always work in BCB without
problems.

If you need any source code maybe specify one of your VC++ examples and I
will see what I can do...
