I have written a program to scan .mp3 files to extract information. I found it took quite a while because of the things you have to take into account like normal data frames, ID3v1 & ID3v2 Tags and then the variable bit rate headers/frames (xing & vbri). I have not considered updating the Tags yet although ID3v1 would be easy enough (last 128 bytes) but ID3v2 is embeded at the front of the file. Any way here are some links which might help (In section 5 of the first web link page there are more web links) http://www.codeproject.com/audio/mpegaudioinfo.asp?df=100&forumid=106322&exp=0&select=1449575 http://www.id3.org/ Tony "Jim Davis" <jim46dd@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:Xns98FB37092E179jim46ddverizonnet@207.105.83.66... >I have been manually editing downloaded MP3 tags > in XP file Explorer and Winamp . > > Now I need a BCB tool to read and write MP3 tags . > > Thanks , Jim D >
