There is a 32-bit entity in the single RIFF header block, and that impedes AVI size past 1GB (even though it should be 2 or 4 GB). A new format was designed by Matrox et al, called OpenDML AVI file format, to handle larger AVI files, by using a multiple RIFF header block technique. HTH -- Mark Jacobs http://www.dkcomputing.co.uk
