Hi,


I recently tried a WebCam (snapshots, video-capture,
etc) with maybe 10 free software available arround for
download.

I haven't disappointed with relatively poor response (speed)
of all video capturing software, because I expected that.

But I'm surprised that different software has much greater
reponse (speed) than others... In other words, I expected
at least approximately same results, because I thought
that bottle neck is generaly WebCam hardware.

I want to make my own WebCam code, so I'm curious
what is the real bottle neck in WebCam video capturing?

Also, I noticed great differences in quality even when the
(same settings are applied) of saved video material.

Why is that? Codecs?

Have anyone tried Boian Mitov's set of components with WebCam for saving 
video material? They seem to be great...
