I understand that. The user account was a local admin. The problem is that it's sporadic. Once it occurs, no one can access the keys. I have probably falsely blamed the service. We have changed it so that it reads the registry information at startup and hangs onto it. All of our apps read at least one of the sub keys at startup. It's just that once this occurs, we're dead. My problem is figuring out why it occurs in the first place. - Arnie
