If you don't want to use unique names, then another option you can use is to
devise a unique message, such as with RegisterWindowMessage(), and then use
SendMessage() with the HWND_BROADCAST flag to send the message to all
top-level windows.  When your own app receives the message, it will be the
only app that knows how to respond to the message properly.  You could then
have your app return its MainForm's Handle back to the calling app that sent
the message.
