Hi,

I'm TOTALLY new when it comes to COM.
I'm used to providing a dll (sort of clone of my app's core with the needed
exported functions) when certain functionality is required by third parties.

Now I need to provide a COM object and I have NO CLUE.

- I know that when I provide a dll and a header file (and a test app that
loads the dll) that people get it to work and that's it.
  But what do I provide when they ask for a COM object ?  What IS a COM
object ?  What type of file is it ?

- With Borland C++ Builder 5 ... can I make a COM object ?  Is there a step
by step guide somewhere to help me do it ?

- Will I be able to use the code that I normally put in a dll in the com
object's exported functions and compile just as I compile a dll ?

- Will this COM object be 100 % compatible with DotNet where they seem to
want to use it ?
