Hello again,

I have been looking at some of the tools mentioned and also did some
debugging in my program.

I can create a handle for the COMport with CreateFile but if I use the
handle in WriteFile or SetCommMask the program hangs up.
This happens only, when in the Thread WaitCommEvent is used. I found out,
that the whole program concerning the handle for the comport hangs there. If
something should be sent (but does not) and then a character is received,
both is done together and then everything hangs again at WaitCommEvent until
the next character is received


In the tools I saw, that they are using overlapped file IO and I don't. Is
that necessary under XP?

Ok, I could install one of the tools, but I am looking for
1. a fast way to get my program running again under XP
2. information to help me understand what is needed because later I want to
go on programmig my program.
