Thanks Alex and others, Your suggestion to include <initguid.h> did not work at the first glance, however I really believe, your idea is a promising one. Initially I received the same linker error. I am traveling just now and will have time to focus on the subject next week. BCB v.6 header files are partially of older vintage (as for example the header <Rtccore.h> - where the RTCclient API 1.2 contains newer version of it), and may need update. I hope to find somewhere in MSDN newer <initguid.h> as well as newer <guiddef.h>. The <initguid.h> is rather a kind of small macro definition shell header. It links the <guiddef.h> which look like the real stuff. So in summary: the idea is to include <initguid.h> AND update the header files. Any suggestion where to get the newer headers? I will return to the subject in the next week.
