Hi:

App started popping up Dr Watson when I close it and saying it could not 
attach to process--- So I get no log.

Message Windows 2000 returned error code 87

  87 The parameter is incorrect..

How does one go about finding what is causing this?

The error won't occur when running from IDE.

Memproof shows the typical still active stuff like critical sections etc 
that BCB leaves but I can't track this down without a log.

Any suggestions appreciated.
