Hi, I want to dynamically create folders based on the customers' name (eg. Name Surname). I want to make a function that will remove all eventual unregular characters that customers name may have. I have already solved the problem with appearances of special chars that are not allowed: \ / : * ? " < > | I replace them with '_'. ( I know that the name cannot contain these chars, but they can be foisted ;) The problem is what to do with some diacritical marks that can appear in NON West European charset: ( Ȯ ). Win XP CAN access these folders but Win98 cannot. Is there a common mechanism to replace these chars with similar once, or I have to make some custom coding. When I say similar: Ȯ = SDCCZ I need an idea... Maybe some comparative table. Best regards, Vladimir.
