How does the OS get the size of those files then ??
I cant find other functions then SHGetDataFromIDList.
Is there a "secret" one only the Bill Gates knows? ;-)

I thought I did sorry, It was GetLastError(), so infact 
they all give the same error in return from the function 
call.

But I have now fixed it so that when the function fails
I fall back to the old function using FindFirstFile....
So now I get the speed from using PIDL's and the last
files using FindFirstFile.... It is after all the disks
that I want to check and not the windows filesystem.
