Hi every1. I get start to use Midas and i think that it's a great tool for developping multi-tier applications. I've got an app that is installed on diferent computers and each instalation of my app access a remote database (MS ACCESS) that is placed in a single computer. I can do this with ODBC programing, i mean, i've got TDataSources, TQuerys, DBGrids and so on, in my client app. All i have to do is configure well a new ODBC' DSN and share the directory where the database is placed in the remote machine, that everything works fine. This brings me a problem, all the remote users have access to that directory, so they can delete the database if they want, or can work directly in the database. I want to deny this, so i thought using Midas to resolve this problem. I'm using TSocketConnection objects to connect to the Midas' server. In the Midas' server i've got a RemoteDataModule with TDataSetProviders and TADOQuerys. This works fine, but the SQL string have to be created in the TADOQuery of the Midas' server (i think) and i want to create it in the client side dinamicaly and pass it to the server, because the SQL query depends on user choices, so it can't be static. Is there any way to pass SQL strings from the client side to a TADOQuery on the server side? Any answer hould be greatly appreciated. Nuno.
