There is not a problem with the slashes.

CreateProcess does find the program in the currecnt directory.  I have
checked this with Filemon.  Then the message appears.  It is a 16-bit dos
program that is called.  I should not see the message 'cannot find the file
prog.exe. make sure that the file exists on your system and that the path
and filename are correct.'
