Could be that MS has "simplified" the results for GetCommModemStatus
as opposed to GetCommStatus.  Are the DSR and CTS values different
between the two different calls?

You asked about detecting the connection dropping. RLSD should do
that. Your test showed it happening (as well as the others I didn't
expect to drop).  In any case, the others could fluctuate during
usage. RLSD should only drop when the connection does.
