The way you worded your earlier comments made it seem like you were saying
that the CoInitFlags and CoInitializeEx() themselves would not work under
older OSes.  They most certainly would.  The original discussion of this
thread had nothing to do with WMI at all, so why did you throw that into the
mix?  It is only confusing the matter.

Ignore those, they are misleading.  COINIT_MULTITHREADED is supported under
Win9x/Me (Win95 needs DCOM installed separately, though).  All versions of
BCB have had _WIN32_WINNT defined to 0x0400 or higher since at least BCB3,
however, so every version of BCB has CoInitializeEx() support enabled with
extra work from the programmer.
