Applications are not allowed to alter their own executable file while it is still running. Configuration should be stored elsewhere, either in a separate file, or in the Registry. As for the spashscreen, the simpliest solution without requiring the application to be recompiled each time, is to make the application simply look for a particular filename in a specific folder at runtime, and if found then load and display it as needed. The user/customer can then simply provide the desired image file for each installation. Gambit
