A BPL is not just a DLL but a DLL with some enhancements.  Among the
features provided by a BPL are the ability to export of Delphi style class,
a class which works using software techniques such as is used by the VCL.  A
C++ class instance can be exported from a either of a DLL or BPL.  The
'this' pointer is a characteristic of a class or structure, not of the file
in which its code is located.  The this pointer is a separate subject from
that of if it is in an EXE, DLL or BPL.
