save string in exe file

Hello,

I have an question for anything I do not know, if this is possible to reach.
In my application, I like to be able a string in the exe file itself.

For example. My application has an edit. Now I write a value in it and click
a save button. I close the application. Later, when I start the application
again I like to load this string from the exe file.

I know, that it is easy to use an ini file or other file to save the string.
but i like to know, if there also is an way to save directly in the exe
file.
