While we think of exported items as functions they really are only a number.
When the item is thought to be a function the number is the address of the
function.  I think it also could also be the address of a data table.

The one problem I encountered in using an item exported from an exe was when
that was imported into another exe which was the working program.  If the
export is from the exe which is the working program and it is used by a dll
that is loaded by the program, I would expect the export of a table to not
have problems.
