Perhaps you want to look into using VirtualAlloc() and VirualLock()
instead of GlobalAlloc or malloc or "new"

I would think as long as you don't need more than a meg or so, you
could allocate and lock the pages for the duration of the app, then
just do your own suballocating of chunks of it.
