Well, that is going to be a problem. Under WinNT/2K/XP, standard users do not have writting access to much of the Registry, particularly the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section. The admin would have to use REGEDT32 to manually adjust the Registry permissions for those users. That's not a very good solution. It is unlikely that admins are going to adjust their security rights for your program's needs, so your best bet would be to use HKEY_CURRENT_USER when possible, it has less access restrictions. However, you would then have to install your app under each user account that needs to run it, whereas HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is global instead. Gambit
