WinInet FTP problem

Hi,
I hope this is the appropriate group for my problem:

I connect to an FTP server using WinInet functions

InternetOpen
InternetConnect

When calling InternetConnect the Dial-In dialog
pops up, I confirm and everything works.
When I cancel the Dial-In dialog the function fails.
That is to be expected.

The problem is when I canceled the dialog once
InternetConnect the next time not even brings up
the dialog, it fails immediately.

It only works again when I close the program and
restart it, as if the library needs to be reloaded....

I should mention that before calling
InternetOpen/InternetConnect I always do a clean-up
where I free any old handles with InternetCloseHandle.

I tried all this with my DSL modem. Has anyone
encountered similar problems?

thanks for any idea,
Nick
