Being able to get away with #include <windows> is not related with a
compiler being up to date.  It is wrong.  It works because it takes
advantage of a side effect of how one version of one compiler searches for
header files.  It could easily fail after applying a patch or update.

I don't know what the function to class problem is.  You posted something
like 400 lines of code and I haven't gotten into it yet.
