thanks Remy, this is a great idea and is exactly what I was looking for. However, as you already mentioned it seems to be problematic from within a hook DLL. As soon as I use FindControl() the hook DLL is not even loaded! (The test app I try to hook is written with C++Builder) I also tried to read out the first property value of the window handle by hand what works. But when I cast this value to, say, a TControl pointer and try to call something on this pointer it again does not load. thanks again, Nick
