Hi, thanks for your reply. I think I didn't make myself clear enough. My hook DLL is loaded in the target app via SetWindowsHookEx. So it is in the same address space as the TDBGrid. I can pass the Grid handle to the DLL via shared memory. Now the DLL has the handle and could work with the grid but it doesn't know its pointer, only the handle. I guess, however, you're right, there is probably no relation between the handle and the grid instance. regards, Nick
