Well, there's another issue that I haven't quite figured out.

I'm using mag as a value for SetWindowExtEx
    SetWindowExtEx(hdc, mag, mag, NULL);
    SetWindowOrgEx(hdc, mag/2, mag/2, NULL);

I also use the mouse to pan...I capture the first location with the mouse
down, allow a drag, then final location on mouse up. I call the difference
vox and voy...I then SetViewportOrgEx using these values...

    SetViewportOrgEx(hdc, vox, voy, NULL);

Does it sound like I don't know what I'm doing??? heheh...you're right. I
couldn't find any examples of pan and zoom using these, but from Petzold, it
appeared that it was do-able.

I have it working.....somewhat. The pan works nicely. The zoom seems to be
from the upper-left corner "perspective". I know I'm not describing it very
well...I'm really experimenting with it right now...hoping I'll happen on
the right combination.

I could go on and on....but I'm sure having fun with it anyway!!! Petzold's
book is a hoot!!!

I have done some programming using the features of BCB with forms, etc and
that sure makes it nice, but I'm just hacking away with the OLD way to get a
thorough knowledge of how this all works.
