Hi dwayne,
    the window "freezes" up because it's busy searching, instead of
redrawing.
You could possibly put the search process in a thread.

BCB5 Pro.  OS-> Any  Files->large Data files.

   When doing large searches on files, or doing big updates involving
numerous records, the Window seems to "Freeze" up, after "Opening up" the
window from a minimized taskbar position.  The Form has no details, just
blank screen, yet the data is still running away like it is supposed to.  Is
there a way to keep this from happening?  When the Data is through its
marching, everything is back to normal.
