Responding to mouse 'browser back' button.

My new mouse has buttons for browser forward and browser back. Previous
mice have never been convenient to use but this one is for browser back
and it's rapidly becoming a habit.

I've noticed that BCB6 responds to it when returning from 'goto
declaration' and now I'd like one of our applications to respond to it.

All I've found so far with WinSight is that WM_USER+0xAC16 is sent with
a word param of 0x12 for 'button released' and 0x25 for 'back', 0x27
for 'forward'.

Does anyone know the official way to respond to these buttons and/or
the browser back event?
