Another possibility would be to do as much rendering inside the thread as
possible, and then only call Synchronize() when you're ready to actually
update the GUI display with the new image.  Even then, you could just use
SendMessage() instead of Synchronize(), passing the necessary data as a
parameter to a custom message that you send to the main form, which the main
form is looking for and then uses the data accordingly before returning
control back to the thread to render the next image.
