What you will need to do is write your own device driver, and for that you need to use Microsoft's DDK instead. If you look at FileMonitor (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/filemon.shtml), it has to do exactly that in order to display everything that it shows about file activity. Gambit
