API edit control on form and key messages

Hi,
As I needed a right aligned colored edit control I found that the only way to do this was a classic edit control created with CreateWindow, etc... (hope I am right, it's the only solution I found). My problem is that the edit control doesnn't respond correctly to arrow key messages: instead of "navigating" inside edit text it changes the focus between other vcl controls inside the form... any ideas?
