I understand your need for the windowless console app. The is exactly what I
needed and is how I implemented it. A backend server implmented as a console
app instead of a NT Service because I did not want the added complexity of a
Service. I can't say if it solves you error message problem but implementing
your server as a console app without a console window sounds like a
reasonable solution. On the positive side, as I mentioned all it takes is
one call to FreeConsole() to test it. Just my thoughts.
