You may want to look into the LPT device driver and C++ Builder
component TVicLPT by Victor Ishikeev. It's relatively inexpensive, he
gives good tech support and it works well. It even includes code that
finds all the LPT ports on your system. This is harder than it used to
be because the combination of PCI add-in parallel ports and Windows XP
often doesn't let you install LPT ports in the old DOS-style locations
(378 hex, 278 hex and 3BC hex). Victor's component finds them in upper
memory addresses, too. And, you can detect (and sometimes change)the
mode of the parallel port (SPP, PS/2, Fast Centronix, EPP, ECP).

You can download a trial version to see if it does what you need and if
you later buy it, the registered version works exactly the same way as
the trial version.
