To know if a key is down at the moment you are calling the function,
I think it is better to write :
if(GetKeyState(VK_SHIFT)<0)
{
  ...
}
GetAsyncKeyState(VK_SHIFT<0) is true if the key has been down since
the last call of the function (That is what I've understood)
