In a nutshell, here be my problem. My application installs, by default, to Program Files\MyApp. This needs admin privileges under NT/W2k/XP. Ok. That's not a problem. The trouble comes when a non-admin user tries to save any work, which defaults to, Program Files\MyApp\Studies. That folder is read only. Again I can get around this by having the user browse for a save folder. I should be checking the windows version and, if applicable, defaulting to: Application Data\USERNAME\MyApp\Studies. Correct? What this is really pointing out is the fact that I need to 'get smart' on the etiquette of where things go under these multi user versions of windows. Can anyone point me at some resources on where the heck to put things please? Thx Drew
