being new to this forum, I say greetings to all!

My Problem:

I need to distinguish *all* the keyboard keys of a windows keyboard.

I've tried winapi's functions like GetMessageExtraInfo, etc. etc. but these do not distinguish between all keys, eg. numbers above the letters and numbers on the right number field.

The winapi call is implemented in a dll which is called from a wish (tcl/tk) runtime environment. However, tcl/tk source is available so I can change it wherever necessary.

I think that it *must* be possible to find a way to distinguish between *all* keys hit on the windows-keyboard.

This is needed for a key assignment configurator for a client application, which is running on unix (XWindow) and MS-Windows.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated
